LG Launches LG K7i- A World’s First Mosquitoes Repellent Smartphone


LG launched its first Mosquito Away Smartphone

The South Korean Giant LG has a large portfolio of feature-laden products, ranging from smartphones to TVs. A new K-series smartphone had entered into their family, as announced earlier this week, the phone was launched on Wednesday. LG launched this smartphone, LG K7i at the Indian Mobile Congress held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. As usual, the device features with modest specs, but it comes with an interesting perk of “Mosquito Away” technology.

What’s more interesting fact is that; LG has already introduced the unique mosquito repellent technology in its other electronic devices such as TV and Air-Conditioners, etc.,. But, this is the first time they have introduced this technology in a smartphone. Let’s see the bells and whistles for the Mosquito Away technology.

Features of the Mosquito Away Technology

We have all attached many things in a smartphone like projectors, Walkie-talkies, FLIR cameras, etc. But, LG has moved one step forward and introduced the world’s first smartphone with a built-in mosquito repellent feature. This is really a hands-off innovation from LG in which the customer can protect them from the deadly disease dengue.

To be precise, the Mosquito Away technology provides the personal protection from those pesky mosquitoes by emitting an ultrasonic sound wave of above 30 KHz, which is equivalent to the human range of 20-20, 000 Hz. Additionally, there are no harmful chemicals in it, rather it deals with ultrasonic sound that comes from the smartphone.

Furthermore, the LG K7i comes with a new Mosquito Away cover and normal rear cover, both are user replaceable. Moreover, the LG K7i bundles with a separate stand, the user can place their smartphone on a stand when the mosquito repellent feature is activated.

Other Key Specs and Features of LG K7i

As said above, the mosquito Away feature is the highest selling point of the LG K7i; other than this the smartphone is considered as a low-end device. The smartphone features a 5-inch display with 1280x720p resolution; Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.4GHz; 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and 156GB microSD card; 8MP rear sensor, 5MP selfie camera; 2, 500mAh battery and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It remains unclear for now, whether the device will get an update of Nougat or Oreo in the near future.
